The Dickens located in Village Square in the heart of Downtown Burlington is one of the city's most iconic and legendary pubs. A heritage building built in the mid 1800's was home to some notable gentlemen such as Joseph Redman 'Shoemaker' circa 1880; John Thompson Bastedo from 1855 to 1873, an agent for D. Moore & Co. in Hamilton and a Postmaster from 1871 (or earlier); and John Kentner in 1893, the owner of a Lumber Yard and Mill that once occupied Brant Street. Today, The Dickens is Burlington's premier pub destination. An amazing menu of pub classics and modern pub fare, 20 beers on tap, signature cocktails, a large, heated patio, and nightly entertainment ranging from live music, to trivia, to karaoke, to open mic. A place where memories are made with friends. Every Burlingtonioan has their Dickens story. What's yours?
